"A Young Don Juan" is a French-Italian film released in 1986. Directed by Gianfranco Mingozzi, it is a coming-of-age story about a 15-year-old boy named Roger (Jacques Bonnaffé) who is sent to a boarding school in the French countryside. There, he soon discovers the pleasure of sexual encounters and begins to seduce several women, including a housekeeper (Dominique Sanda) and the wife (Arielle Dombasle) of a visiting lawyer.
The film's explicit sexual content and portrayal of underage sexuality led to controversy and censorship upon its release. In some countries, it was banned or heavily edited. It was also criticized for its portrayal of women as objects of male desire.
Despite the controversy, "A Young Don Juan" was praised for its visual style and atmospheric setting. It won the Special Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival in 1986.
